Getnick a “legal lion” in connection with the firm’s recently announced record-breaking hedge fund tax case: “New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman on Tuesday announced that Getnick Law and Labaton Sucharow LLP had secured the largest ever tax whistleblower recovery in New York state history.
The whistleblower, whose identity remains protected, will receive 22 percent of the $40 million settlement with Alabama-based investment firm Harbert Management Corp. over unpaid state income taxes, the largest amount and percentage share ever for a whistleblower in a New York False Claims Act case not involving Medicaid.
