Prof. Neil V. Getnick Teaches Cornell Whistleblower Class
Getnick Law Managing Partner and Adjunct Professor Neil V. Getnick is again teaching whistleblower law at Cornell University this spring along with Dean Stuart Schwab. The course analyzes how the law furthers business integrity by protecting whistleblowers through a variety of state and federal laws. The course delves into affirmative civil enforcement pursuant to the qui tam provisions of the Federal and state False Claims Acts and pursuant to the citizen initiative provisions of other whistleblower laws (e.g. the IRS, SEC and CFTC whistleblower laws). It also looks at broader issues relating to corruption and business integrity. Prof. Getnick and Dean Schwab inaugurated the course in 2013, when it was the first of its kind in the United States.
