Getnick and Getnick’s Margaret Finerty Publishes Article in NYSBA Journal on Supreme Court’s Bruen Decision
Getnick and Getnick’s Margaret J. Finerty has published an article in the New York State Bar Association’s September/October 2022 Journal. The article — The Supreme Court’s Bruen Decision and Its Impact: What Comes Next? — analyzes the aftereffects of Bruen and the various legislative initiatives New York State has undertaken in light of the decision, including the Concealed Carry Improvement Act, which New York’s Governor Kathy Hochul signed into law on July 1, 2022 (and which went into effect on September 1, 2022). The article discusses potential challenges to gun regulations — in New York and elsewhere — after Bruen, as well as efforts to enact gun control legislation on the federal level.
