Neil V. Getnick Quoted in The Hill on Proposed Increase in Whistleblower Awards

Neil V. Getnick was today quoted in The Hill, an influential Washington newspaper for and about the U.S. Congress, with a special focus on business and lobbying, political campaigns and other events on Capitol Hill. The Hill has the largest circulation of any Capitol Hill publication.

Rewarding Whistleblowers For Their Success

Mr. Getnick applauded the proposal by Attorney General Eric Holder to remove the cap on whistleblower awards under the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act, known as FIRREA. “Wall Street whistleblowers who report financial crimes are putting their careers on the line,” he said. “Tying their financial rewards to an artificial cap, rather than to their degree of success, is a false economy.”
