Getnick Law Partner Margaret J. Finerty Appears on NYSBA Podcast
Getnick Law Partner Margaret Finerty appeared on the New York State Bar Association’s podcast “Miranda Warnings,” to discuss the recent Supreme Court decision New York State Pistol and Rifle Association v. Bruen in which the Supreme Court struck down part of New York law governing the process to obtain a conceal carry permit for firearms.
In Bruen, the Supreme Court found that the “probable cause” language in New York’s concealed carry law was unconstitutional, ruling that part of the law was in violation of the Second Amendment. In response, New York’s Governor Kathy Hochul called the state legislature back into session to pass new state laws dealing with concealed carry permits. On the podcast, Finerty joins host David Miranda to discuss Bruen and the current legislation being considered in response.
